Radiation background in the Administrative building area is in average 65 microrentgens per hour, in the Shelter object's Observation pavilion area - 1,08 myllyrentgens per hour.
Controllable parameters of the Shelter object are within the limits established by Operational Regulations. According to monitoring systems data the maximal value of gamma - radiation rate inside the object has made 3403 Rontgens per hour, temperature near to Fuel Containing Materials is +29 degrees on Celsius. Exceeding of control levels of Shelter object condition parameters is not fixed.

Complex on manufacturing of steel drums and reinforced concrete containers for ChNPP Radioactive Waste storage

Designing and construction of a complex on manufacturing of the steel drums and reinforced concrete containers for ChNPP Radioactive Waste storage is financed by the European Commission and Ukraine within ”TACIS Program on nuclear safety ensuring: assistance to Ukraine in radioactive waste and spent fuel management”.

This complex is referred to the infrastructure necessary for Chernobyl NPP decommissioning. The implementation of this Project ensures the production of packages for safety radioactive waste management (collection, transport-cargo procedures, storage, reprocessing, transportation and disposal).

Capacity of the Facility:
- 34250 steel drums per year;
- 700 reinforced concrete containers per year.

Location of the construction site: Slavutich, Kiev region

Contractor: Corporation «Ukrtransstroy», Ukraine.

Status of works performance:
• Physical activities at the construction site are being performed;
• Technical specifications fro two types of drums for RAW are in the process of agreement at the State Nuclear Regulation;
• The SSE ChNPP considered working documentation under the project, remarks were sent to the Contractor;
• Consultations with EC concerning revision of the contract’s terms and conditions are underway;

The active phase of the Contract was completed. The Contractor has not fulfilled the commitments under the Contract in full. The consultations with the EC concerning the possibility to revise the Contract’s conditions pertaining to work performance terms are underway.
