Over a period passed from the contract awarding, the Contractor performed the design works, all necessary permissions from the regulatory bodies were obtained, the preparatory works were executed, and the crane of large load capacity was commissioned.
The SSE ChNPP Radiation Safety Shop carried out the radiation survey of VS-2. The continuous radiation monitoring within the work execution area are underway by this Shop.
The dismantled fragments of VS-2 will be placed for temporary storage at Unit No.3 Turbine Hall’s premises. This Power Unit after removal of spent nuclear fuel has a status of radioactive waste management facility.
