Since February 6, the consolidated emergency repair teams of Chornobyl NPP specialists have been involved in elimination of the consequences of russian attacks on critical infrastructure facilities in Kyiv, which led to interruptions in electricity, heat and water supply, as well as sewage system in the capital. Serhii Tarakanov General Director of the Chornobyl NPP informed about that.
According to him, in the context of a full-scale war in the country, there is a shortage of workers in the blue-collar professions, as a significant number of them are currently defending the State. At the same time, the significant scale of damage to Kyiv's energy facilities requires the involvement of considerable human resources.
"That is why electricians, locksmiths, welders and specialists from the main departments of the Chornobyl NPP consider it their duty to lend a helping hand in this difficult situation", Serhii Tarakanov noted during an inspection of one of the facilities in the Pecherskyi district of the capital.
Recovery work is being carried out with the participation of specialists from the territorial communities of the Kyiv region under the coordination of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.
The head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration Mykola Kalashnyk emphasized that the Kyiv region organizes repair crews to help Kyiv every day. They work both day and night, in rotations basis. The main task is to help restore light and heat for inhabitants.
As of today, 33 specialists from the Chornobyl NPP are working at facilities in three districts of the city - Darnytskyi, Holosiivskyi and Pecherskyi. Plant ‘s electricians, locksmiths and welders are involved in emergency recovery work. If necessary, the Chornobyl NPP is ready to involve professionals from other fields in emergency recovery work.
